SECI signs PPA with Five utilities in Karnataka for 1GW solar power project, issues NIT for 5MW project in Telangana By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Jul 1st, 2016 Five utilities Karnataka have signed power purchase agreements (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 1GW of solar power project. According to recent reports Karnataka is facing one of the worst power crises in the last two decades. Solar Energy Corporation of India has also issued a notice of interest (NIT) for Design, Engineering, Procurement & Supply, Construction & Erection, Testing, Commissioning, & Comprehensive Operation & Maintenance for 5 (Five) Years of Grid Connected 5 MW (AC) DCR Solar Power Plant and Associated Transmission System at BDL, Bhanur, Telangana. Under the DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) rules, solar equipment has to be sourced locally.
