SECI to set up grid connected 100 MW Solar PV projects across Chhattisgarh By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Mar 30th, 2016 Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on “Build Own Operate” basis is setting up grid connected 100 MW Solar PV projects under JNNUSM across Chhattisgarh claims a report. According to The Pioneer SECI will enter into Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the bidders to purchase solar power for a period of 25 years. Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) on the other hand announced to set up 500 MW capacity solar parks in the State. As on January 14, 2016 the state achieved total commissioned grid connected solar power capacity of 73.18 MW. Chhattisgarh will participate in a joint initiative with the Central government beside other 10 states for creating a cost-effective power generation infrastructure which is sustainable and inclusive of clean energy solutions. The government has set goal to increase ambition plan of solar installations from below 5GW now to 100GW by 2022. The installed capacity of solar power in India has now crossed the milestone of 5,000 MW.
