SECI Signs PSA for 100 MW Solar Power With Storage With Chhattisgarh Discom

 The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Power Sale Agreements (PSA) worth 100 MW solar power clubbed with 50 MW/100 MWh Energy from Battery Storage with the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL).

The signing of the agreement was announced on the official twitter handle of the nodal agency for implementing renewable energy projects.

Recently, the nodal agency had announced the signing of a PSA worth 400 MW solar power with the Telangana Discom at the Vidyut South in Hyderabad.

In September 2019, SECI had announced the signing of multiple PSA’s worth 930 MW with three Discoms from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.

The first PSA and the latest agreement has been signed between SECI and the Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) for the sale/ supply of 680 MW of solar power. The second PSA, which was announced on September 7, 2019, was for the sale of 150 MW of solar power that will be generated by the infamous Rihand Dam floating solar power project, which was finally approved last month.

The third agreement was signed with the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on September 6, 2019. SECI under the PSA will sell/ supply 100 MW wind energy to the Discom.

In August, SECI had signed another PSA. An agreement for the supply of 40 MW wind power to the Chandigarh Administration (UT). This is the first time that the Chandigarh Administration has signed any power sale agreement with SECI.

In July, we reported that SECI had announced the signing of two new agreements with two power discoms in Delhi and Rajasthan. The first was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) for its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The BESS system will be co-developed by both entities.

The second agreement was signed with the Rajasthan Urja Vikash Nigam Limited (RUVNL) for the sale of 750 MW solar power under the guiding terms of a PSA that the nodal agency has signed. And now, the Discom has agreed for the purchase of an additional 750 MW solar power from SECI.
