SECI Reschedules Pre-Bid Meeting for 3 GW Manufacturing Linked Solar Tender By Ayush Verma/ Updated On Thu, Feb 7th, 2019 The pre-bid meeting scheduled for February 13, 2019, has been rescheduled for February 18, 2019. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has rescheduled the pre-bid meeting for its RfS issued for selection of solar power developers for setting up of 3 GW ISTS connected solar PV power plant linked with setting up of 1.5 GW (per annum) solar manufacturing plant. The tender which was issued on January 30, 2019, had the pre-bid meeting scheduled for February 13, 2019. But now the meeting has been rescheduled for February 18, 2019. The bid-submission deadline for the project remains unchanged i.e. March 18, 2019. And the techno-commercial bids will open on March 19, 2019. Earlier in May 2018, SECI had tender similar manufacturing linked tender for 10 GW solar capacity with 5 GW manufacturing capacity per annum. Due to poor response from the industry, the tender capacity was later reduced to 3 GW where the developers were to be provided guaranteed PPAs of 2,000 MW for a manufacturing capacity of 600 MW, therefore the total power projects awarded would have remained at 10 GW. However, recently, the government announced its plan to cancel the previous tender and float the manufacturing-linked solar tender for a second time, after scrapping the results from the first issue. SECI has also recently rescheduled the pre-bid meeting for its 7.5 GW solar power project to be developed in Leh and Kargil districts of Jammu and Kashmir for February 18, 2019.
