SECI Notifies Date of RfS Document for 2.5 GW Solar Project in Kargil

Solar Energy Corporation of India in a notification informed that the RfS document for the 23 GW solar project to come up in Leh and Kargil Regions will be issued on December 31, 2018.

The current trench of auction will be of 2.5 GW out of the total 23 GW earlier notified by SECI.

In an earlier notification SECI, which is implementing the project had said that it will tender 5000 MW in Leh district and 2500 MW in Kargil district in the Phase-1 of the project.

The scope of work shall comprise setting up of the Solar PV Projects along with implementation of the entire power evacuation infrastructure (substations along with transmission lines),till the drawl point.

In the earlier notification it was said that the RfS document will be issued by December 15, 2018 which has now been revised by the latest circular which mentions the date on which the RfS document will be issued to be December 31, 2018.

Cumulatively, this will be the largest project in terms of capacity so far. Last year, SECI had issues tenders for a 10 GW floating solar project and a 20 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility.
