SECI Issues RfS for 1200 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Wed, Jan 2nd, 2019 The maximum tariff payable to each WPD is fixed at Rs 2.85/kWh for the entire term of 25 years. State-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued Request for Selection (RfS) document for setting up of 1200 MW ISTS connected wind power projects (Tranche-VI) on “Build Own Operate” basis. This 1200MW solar-wind hybrid tender was opened on December 31, 2018 and will be closed on February 02, 2019. Also, SECI will be entered into Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the selected Wind Power Developers (WPDs) for a period of 25 years. As per the notification, SECI said, “The maximum tariff payable to each WPD is fixed at Rs 2.85/kWh for the entire term of 25 years. The Bidders will be free to avail fiscal incentives like accelerated depreciation, concessional custom duties, tax holidays, etc. available for such projects as per prevailing conditions.” The wind power projects are required to be designed for inter-connection with transmission network of CTU at voltage level of 220 kV or above. It further added that, “The eligible bid capacity for bidding will be minimum 50 MW and maximum 600 MW by a Bidder.” “A foreign company can also participate on standalone basis or as a member of consortium at the RfS stage. In case of foreign company participating on standalone basis and its selection as successful Bidder, it has to form an Indian Company registered under the Companies Act, 2013 as its fully owned subsidiary Company (i.e. 100% subsidiary) before signing of PPA,” it added.
