SECI Issues NIT for Development and Supply of 50000 nos Low Cost Li-Ion Solar Lanterns By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Sep 16th, 2016 Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a notice of interest (NIT) for the development and supply of 50000 nos low cost lithium ion (uni-directional) solar lanterns. The project entails distribution of solar lanterns of advanced design (Uni directional, Lithium –ion Model). The target areas for this project shall be backward districts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha or any other state specified by SECI. The prospective Bidders have to design, manufacture / fabricate, supply and transport solar lantern model (Unidirectional) with Lithium Ion Battery with incidental services as per tender specification and deliver the lanterns to the designated state headquarters. Interested bidders have to download the official copy of RfS & other documents logging into the TCIL website. Last day for the submission of the bid is 6th October 2016. SECI notes that bidders have to supply the final product of Li-ion unidirectional Solar Lanterns duly tested by National Accredited Laboratories (such as NISE etc.) in duly packed condition. Solar photovoltaic (SPV) lantern (Solar lantern) is a lighting system consisting of a lamp (White LED), battery and electronics, all placed in a suitable housing, made of metal or plastic or fibre glass, and a photovoltaic (PV) module.
