SECI Designated as RE Implementing Agency By Ayush Verma/ Updated On Fri, Feb 22nd, 2019 SECI Issues Tender For 2GW Solar Projects With Storage SECI has been designated as the renewable energy implementing agency so as to facilitate the application of connectivity and LTA in ISTS network. The Solar Energy Corporation of India with the approval of the Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R K Singh, has been designated as the Renewable Energy Implementing Agency of India. “With reference to the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Grant of Connectivity, Long-term Access and Medium-term Open Access in inter-State Transmission and related matters) (Seventh Amendment) Regulations, 2019, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is hereby designated as Renewable Energy Implementing Agency so as to facilitate the application of connectivity and L TA in ISTS network,” the official order stated. Recently, The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a Notice Inviting Tenders (NIT) for setting up of 20 MW floating solar PV power plants with associated 60 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Lakshadweep. The brief scope of work for selected bidders will include the Design, engineering, procurement & supply of equipment and materials, testing at manufacturers’ works, multi-level inspections, packing and forwarding, supply, receipt, unloading and storage at site, associated civil works, services, permits, licences, installation and incidentals, insurance at all stages, erection, testing and commissioning of 20 MW (AC) Floating Solar PV Power Plant with 60 MWh BESS. And, SECI has also issued a tender inviting bids for setting up of 1200 MW ISTS Connected Wind Power Projects (Tranche-VII) on a pan India basis. After it’s Tranche-VI Wind Energy Tender, for 1.2 GW, saw a total of nine developers make bids totaling 2325 MW for the 1200 MW tender. SECI is also undertaking a new programme ROPE (Recycle of Old Paper for Education) – an environment friendly initiative to collect & donate used paper, so that it can be recycled into books and donated to underprivileged children across the nation.
