Schletter Group Appoints Junichiro Furukawa as New MD for Japan By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Mon, Dec 3rd, 2018 As of December, Junichiro Furukawa will be in charge of the company that exclusively markets the products of the Schletter Group in Japan. Junichiro Furukawa as new Managing Director, Schletter Group The solar mounting manufacturer Schletter Group has appointed Junichiro Furukawa as new Managing Director for its subsidiary Schletter Japan K.K. As of December, Junichiro Furukawa will be in charge of the company that exclusively markets the products of the Schletter Group in Japan. Commenting on the appointment, Schletter Group, CEO, Florian Roos said, “Japan is an absolute key market for us, especially with regards to our versatile and extremely durable mounting solutions. Junichiro Furukawa will continue to position us as a quality leader in the industry and further develop our growing Japanese business.” Roos also thanked the parting MD Eric Roujolle who successfully steered the company through a period of reorganization over the last seven months. However, Roujolle will continue to be working for Schletter Japan as an advisor. Furukawa has worked for over 18 years in various expert and leadership positions at the Honda corporation. During that time he held assignments in Great Britain, the US, as well as Austria and France where he was President of one of Honda’s subsidiaries. After his return to Japan he was involved in promoting Honda’s new Thin-film Solar panel business. “With his strategic know-how and excellent knowledge of the local market, he is ideally suited to continue driving our business in Japan forward,” Roos said. The Schletter group is one of the leading non-domestic suppliers of PV mounting systems in Asia. Schletter Japan K.K. was established in 2012 and has installed over 1.8 gigawatts of PV capacity since then.
