SASA Plans To Add 600 MW Of TOPCon Module Manufacturing By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Thu, Mar 27th, 2025 SASA Plans To Add 600 MW Of TOPCon Module Manufacturing Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer SASA Energy is gearing up for a significant expansion. The company, which currently has a total of 150 MW of solar module manufacturing capacity, is now adding 600 MW of new capacity. The firm, which is now focussing on mono-PERC, has planned to completely shift its production to TOPCOn with its new proposed module manufacturing line. The top management of the firm, in an interaction with Saur Energy, revealed their expansion plans. “The company is adding 600 MW of new capacity within the next month, focusing on Mono PERC bifacial, glass-to-glass, and Topcon modules. Currently, we have a healthy order book and are fully booked for the next 3-4 months,” said Chintan Vasoya, Director at SASA Energy, in an exclusive conversation with Saur Energy. When asked of the firm has also planned to take up the manufacturing of solar cells, Chintan denied. However, he noted that the company’s management has not yet made a final decision on entering solar cell manufacturing. “Right now, our focus is on expanding solar module production,” he added. Growing Demand and Government Support Driving Expansion Chintan emphasized the strong growth potential of India’s solar market, stating that only high-quality manufacturers will thrive amid increasing competition. “The Indian solar market looks promising for the next 10 years. The government is actively promoting domestic solar module manufacturers, which is a big advantage for companies like us,” he said. The implementation of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) has further strengthened domestic players, he belives. “ALMM has helped us compete against cheap solar module imports from China. With Chinese supply now restricted, large projects are turning to Indian manufacturers, allowing local companies to flourish,” Chintan explained. With its upcoming capacity expansion and a strategic focus on quality manufacturing, SASA Energy is positioning itself as a key player in India’s evolving solar industry, he added. SASA Energy entered MNRE’s ALMM list on August 29, 2024. Tags: India, Module Manufacturing, SASA, Solar, solar cell
