Sarla, Oriana & Pace Digitek Win Karnataka’s 350 MW BESS Project Karnataka Power Transmission Corp Ltd (Kptcl) awarded its 350 MW battery energy storage (BESS) project to three winners namely, Sarla Project Works, Oriana Power, and Pace Digitek. KPTCL released this tender in March this year, 2025 and declared winners within a month, one of the fastest transitions from announcement to results. The bulk power procurer awarded only 350MWh out of the total 1,000 MWh or 1 GWh standalone battery energy storage project available. The other two bidders were 16% and 24% higher than the L1 tariff. The bids for its project were awarded between Rs. 2.49-2.54 lacs/MW/month. Interestingly, missing out with bids well above the allowed cutoff range were NTPC Green and JSW Neo Energy. As per the KPTCL tender result, Sarla Project Works secured the 50 MWh project at the lowest bid of 2,49,500/MW/month., whereas, Oriana Power (TrueRE-Oriana Power) secured 50 MWh for Rs. 2,54,490/Month and d Pace Digitek Limited secured the largest share of 250 MWh for Rs. 2,54,490/MW/Month. In Telangana’s BESS tender, Bondada Engineering secured 50 MW at the lowest bid of ₹2.40 lakh/MW/month, while TrueRE-Oriana Power won 50 MW at ₹2.45 lakh/MW/month. Pace Digitek was awarded 125 MW at ₹2.452 lakh/MW/month. As per the tender terms, developers can avail VGF of up to ₹27 lakh/MWh or 30% of the capital cost, whichever is lower.
