SAEL, NTPC & BluPine Bag SECI’s 500 MW Solar Tender FY24 Results: SECI Adds 8,440 MW RE Tenders, Total Capacity Hits 65,317 MW

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has now awarded 500 MW of solar projects to three solar power developers in India. The central tendering authority has announced the results of the tender recently.

As per the details, these tenders were allocated to SAEL Industries, NTPC Renewable Energy and BluPine Energy. SAEL and NTPC Renewable Energy became the successful bidders after they quoted a price of Rs 2.48 per kWh. BluPine Energy meanwhile had quoted a price of Rs 2.49 per unit for the project.

After the SECI conducted the reverse bid auctions, based on the quoted lowest price, it awarded a capacity of 250 MW to SAEL Industries, 200 MW to NTPC Renewable Energy and 50 MW to BluPine Energy.

These projects will be developed as per the tender issued by SECI last year. SECI had issued the tender for solar power projects across India. These projects were supposed to be connected through a Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network (Tranche-XVI). These projects were slated to be developed by the solar developers under a Build-Own and Operate (BOO) basis.

These project developers will now sign an agreement with the SECI for the supply of the committed power as per the laid down mandate of the tender.
