Photo: Pexels Mumbai-based company for ground mount and rooftop solar solutions for commercial & industrial clients Roofsol Energy Pvt Ltd announced the commencement of a 27.2 MWp utility-scale project in Tamil Nadu. In a post on Linkedin, the company said that it has now commissioned a 27.2 MWp utility-scale project which is their first Utility-scale project with Horizontal Single Axis Tracker and Bifacial modules. The company further said that its capability has been significantly enhanced with the commissioning of this ground-mounted utility-scale project and that the company is executing 150 MWp+ of solar projects in the ground-mount utility and C&I segment in the current financial year. The company also completed the 21.5 MWp solar project in Punjab’s Bathinda. Last year in September, Roofsol Energy Pvt Ltd was awarded three new projects across the northern part of India. These are for a cumulative capacity of 6.2 MW. The firm has won a 3 MW rooftop solar project from Cedaar Textile Pvt. Ltd. The yarn manufacturing firm says that the solarization in the Ludhiana factory will lend support to its export initiatives. Roofsol has also added a project from Udaipur-based MANKIND PHARMA LTD, which is India’s fourth largest pharmaceutical company. Further, the company also received a rooftop solar project at Sharmanji Yarns Pvt Ltd, a spinning mill in Ludhiana, Punjab, for a capacity of 11.53 MWp in November last year. The rooftop project will employ high-efficiency N-type 690 Wp modules from Trina Solar Asia Pacific while solar inverters of 125 KW from Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. shall be used in the project. The project will save around 15 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year. Roofsol Energy has a strong portfolio in the rooftop segment in the northern part of India. The firm’s portfolio boasts the installation of 70 MWp of rooftop solar plants in Punjab. These have been primarily established in the textile industry.
