RenewSys Takes Solar Encapsulant Capacity to 3GW By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Tue, Jan 25th, 2022 Highlights : New Encapsulant (EVA & POE) line commissioned at the RenewSys Bengaluru facility, taking the total capacity to 3 GW. The company is looking to further expand their manufacturing capacity to 11 GW. Mumbai-based RenewSys India has commissioned a new encapsulant (EVA & POE) line this month, taking the company’s total encapsulant manufacturing output to 3 GW, according to a recent press statement. The addition of yet another GW of encapsulant production capacity has also begun, which will ramp up the total capacity to 4 GW, the statement adds. The company is looking to expand to 11 GW by adding another 8 GW in a phase-wise manner. Avinash Hiranandani, Global CEO & Managing Director, RenewSys, said, “It is an exciting time to be in the solar manufacturing industry in India. More organisations and homeowners are looking to switch to solar now, than ever before. The support of the MNRE and the impetus to the ‘Make in India’ movement has been fuelling the set-up of PV module manufacturing facilities pan India. We welcome all these new businesses and look forward to partnering in their growth journey, by supplying them with world-class PV Encapsulants and Backheets, made right here- in India.” RenewSys recently launched a distinctive EVA Encapsulant – CONSERV® Ultra plus (U+). This thermo-proficient encapsulant reduces the curing time per PV module cycle by 2-3 minutes, increasing the efficiency of the module manufacturing line by 10-20%, claims the company. Founded in 2011 as the renewable energy arm of international conglomerate ENPEE Group, RenewSys is an integrated manufacturer of solar PV modules and its key components – encapsulants, backsheets, and PV Cells. It supplies over 15 GW of material in competitive global markets and claims to have to its credit several firsts, such as India’s proven & UL certified POE, transparent backsheet, and only backsheet patent. RenewSys Bengaluru has reportedly produced and supplied over 15 GW of encapsulant and backsheet worldwide. This award-winning facility houses an independently run, one-of-its-kind NABL accredited encapsulant and backsheet testing lab, states the company. RenewSys Hyderabad is responsible for R&D and innovations like India’s 1st 5BB and 6BB PV cells, bi-facial, glass-to-transparent backsheet module, high efficiency-DESERV galactic and galactic ultra modules. It houses a state-of-the-art module testing laboratory where PV modules can be tested under rigorous conditions like damp heat, temperature cycling, and UV exposure, states the firm. RenewSys Patalganga is a solar module manufacturing plant, located about an hour away from the JNPT port in Maharashtra. Its 2 GW capacity is expected be operational in phases from Feb 2022 onwards.
