RenewSys Brings Anti-Acid EVA Technology To Prevent Solar Cell Corrosion By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Feb 13th, 2025 Highlights : Corrosion of metal parts in the cell and aging-related delamination are now preventable with the Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant, which is specifically designed to inhibit the formation of acetic acid RenewSys, a PV module manufacturer of encapsulants and backsheets, has introduced its new EVA encapsulant. This latest technology is designed to address a long-standing issue that affects the lifespan of solar modules. Corrosion of metal parts in the cell and aging-related delamination are now preventable with the Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant, which is specifically designed to inhibit the formation of acetic acid. “Over the decades, EVA has been the workhorse Encapsulant for solar modules,” explains Mr. Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at RenewSys. “However, the industry has always grappled with the issue of acetic acid formation over the service of PV modules, which corrodes the metal components of the cells and connectors, ultimately reducing its performance and lifespan.” The Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant from RenewSys directly addresses this critical pain point. Its unique material composition includes acid-neutralizing and inhibiting properties that prevent the formation of acetic acid, safeguarding the module’s integrity. Avinash Hiranandani elaborates, “Our innovative formulation represents a significant leap forward in Encapsulant technology. It is specifically designed to protect against acetic acid, a common cause of degradation in solar modules. This is especially crucial for newer technologies like TOPCon, which are more sensitive to chemical and moisture ingress.” RenewSys is one of the first Indian manufacturer of this specialized Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant. About RenewSys: RenewSys is the first integrated manufacturer of Solar PV Modules (5.5 GW) and its key components – Encapsulants (9 GW), Backsheets (4 GW), and a new cell line (2.5 GW) are being installed. Headquartered in Mumbai, RenewSys is the ‘Renewable Energy’ arm of the ENPEE Group, an international conglomerate established in 1961. The Group has offices and distributors/agents in India, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Singapore, UAE, and representative offices in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, and countries across Europe.
