REMCL is Selecting Project Developers for 750 MW RTC Power

Railway Energy Management Company (REMC) Ltd., a subsidiary of RITES Ltd, for and on behalf of Indian Railways, has invited bids in single stage two packet system for selection of project developers for supply of 750 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) power from grid-connected renewable energy (RE) power projects, with or without storage.

The last date and time of online submission of the bid is October 30, 2023. The last date and time of offline submission of bid is November 2, 2023. Bids open on November 2, 2023.

Prior to the submission of the bid, the bidder is required to pay INR 29,500 as the bid document fee (non and INR 10 Lakh + 18% GST as bid processing fee.

Each bid must have at least 100 MW of capacity. The annual availability of the project for the initial four years is pegged at 75% and will increase to 85% for the rest of the contract years.

Recently, Railway Energy Management Company Ltd announced the establishment of the National Energy Management Centre (NEMC) at its workplace. The Energy Management Centre will look into the supervision of as well as purchase power for the Railways. This will be done at a pan India level.
