Rajasthan Water Resources Dept Issues Tender For Solar Based Micro Irrigation

The Water Resources Department in Rajasthan has issued a tender for planning, designing and construction of solar based micro-irrigation project for 140 hectares of cultivable command area (CCA) at Bhabhrana Anicut, 226 hectares at Dholpur Anicut and 140 hectares at Anicut in Dungarpur district.

The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 81.83 crore. The last date for bidders to submit the bids is February 17, 2023. Physical submission of the bid could be done till 12.00 noon of February 20, 2023 in the office of ACE at Udaipur Zone.

The bid opening date is February 20 at 3.00 PM. The technical part of the bids will also be opened on February 20,2023 at 3.00 PM. The opening of the financial part of the bid will be informed separately by the department.

The successful bidders will also be responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) for eight years on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Single Responsibility Turnkey basis.

The bidders will have to deposit a security of 0.5 per cent of the contract amount or Rs 49.91 lakhs in case a bidder is an eligible contractor registered with the Water Resources Department. If a bidder is registered with some other department, it will need to deposit a security of 2 per cent of the contract amount or Rs 163.66 lakhs.

The department is not bound to accept the lowest bid and may reject any or all bids without tendering any reason for the same.

Earlier,  the Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JVVNL) had also called for bids to develop 31.02 MW of grid-connected solar power projects under ‘Component C’ of the PM-KUSUM meant for the solarization of power grids.

The western part of the country, especially Rajasthan and Gujarat, that are rain deficient states, are being focused for the development of micro-irrigation projects to enhance economic development in the rural sides.

Recently, India had set a target to bring 100 lakh hectares of agricultural land under micro-irrigation. The Central Government has also created a dedicated Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF) of Rs 5000 crore with the objective to facilitate States in mobilizing resources for expanding coverage of Micro Irrigation.
