Rajasthan has allocated land to establish a 3 GW solar power plant in the western part of the state. The land has been allocated to a state company in the Bikaner district.

In the Bikaner district, 4,780 hectares (ha) of land have been given to the Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company for the construction of three solar parks with a combined capacity of 2.45GW.

In the Phalodi district, NTPC Renewable Energy has been awarded 910ha for a 500MW solar project.

The chief minister of the state has emphasized that “additional efforts are being undertaken to ensure these initiatives are effectively implemented to benefit the citizens of Rajasthan,” underscoring the government’s commitment to seeing things through to completion.

Last month, Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) has issued a tender inviting bids to procure 8000 MW of solar power. RUVITL is procuring the power for tying up large-scale capacity in one step with optimal mix and it is expected to get better rates also due to the benefit of larger scale.

RUVITL also plans to procure 3200 MW of power through a competitive bidding process along with seeking a grant of coal linkage for 3299 MW coal-based thermal power plants. In other news, CESC Limited has announced the acquisition of a solar park of 300 MW capacity at Nokh and Gelaba Camp Village, Pokaran Tehsil in Phalodi District, Rajasthan. The company has acquired the solar park from SKP Green Ventures Private Limited.

Avaada Energy, the renewable energy arm of Avaada Group, announced the successful closure of one of the largest refinancing transactions in India’s renewable energy sector, securing about Rs 4,471 crore from the state-owned lender, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID), in April. This refinancing transaction, conducted under a Restricted Group (RG) structure, encompasses four ISTS-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of 1700 MWp in the state of Rajasthan. The structure has been rated as ‘AA (Stable)’ by CareEdge Ratings, said Avaada Energy.
