Rajasthan Issues Tender To Procure 8000 MW Solar Power By Akash Dhiman/ Updated On Fri, May 3rd, 2024 Highlights : RUVITL shall enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the solar developers selected through competitive bidding for a total capacity of 8000 MW. BluPine Energy and Dalmia Cements Ink Solar Project Deal Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) has issued a tender inviting bids to procure 8000 MW of solar power. RUVITL is procuring the power for tying up large-scale capacity in one step with optimal mix and it is expected to get better rates also due to the benefit of larger scale. RUVITL shall enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the solar developers selected through competitive bidding for a total capacity of 8000 MW. This electricity may be supplied from solar plants located in Rajasthan and the PPA will be for a period of 25 years. Solar capacity will start coming in phases which will help during initial growth in demand. After the submission of bids by prospective bidders, evaluation of bids will be carried out on an aggregate basis, and the selection of successful bidder. The last date for submitting the bid is June 24, 2024. The bidders will be required to submit an EMD of Rs 5,00,000. RUVITL also plans to procure 3200 MW of power through a competitive bidding process along with seeking a grant of coal linkage for 3299 MW coal-based thermal power plants. In other news, CESC Limited has announced the acquisition of a solar park of 300 MW capacity at Nokh and Gelaba Camp Village, Pokaran Tehsil in Phalodi District, Rajasthan. The company has acquired the solar park from SKP Green Ventures Private Limited. According to a filing by CESC limited, Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of CESC Limited has done the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Bhadla Three SKP Green Ventures Private Limited, from SKP Green Ventures Private Limited.
