Rajasthan Gives Land To Adani For 1,000 MW Solar Project By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, Jun 13th, 2022 Highlights : The solar power facility of 100 MW will come up in Bandha village of Jaisalmer district and will be developed by Adani Renewable Energy. The resent capacity is around 13,000 MW of solar panels and under the Solar Energy Policy 2019, 30,000 MW is being targeted by Rajasthan to be installed by financial year 2024-25. Public sector enterprise Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) has issued a tender for comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 4.9 MW wind power project at Village Barabagh, District Jaisalmer in the state of Rajasthan. The highest capacity installer in terms of solar power projects considering both installed and pipeline capacity, Rajasthan, continues to build on it smart turnaround since 2019. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot led cabinet meeting decided to allot government land of a size of almost 2,400 hectares for the development of solar power projects. The solar power facility of 100 MW will come up in Bandha village of Jaisalmer district and will be developed by Adani Renewable Energy Holding Four Limited. As per the details of the cabinet meeting, the land allotment will take place under Rajasthan Land Revenue (Allotment of Land for Setting Up of Power Plant based on Renewable Energy Sources) Rules-2007. Besides increasing the green electricity generation in Rajasthan, the solar power project will also lead to more employment opportunities for the locals and the state can generate more revenue. At present, Rajasthan is among the leading state in terms of solar power capacity installation in India. In absolute numbers, the present capacity is around 13,000 MW of solar plants and under the Solar Energy Policy 2019, 30,000 MW is being targeted by Rajasthan to be installed by financial year 2024-25. The Rajasthan government has allotted about 16,000 hectares of land until now for the development of wind and solar based power projects. At the recent cabinet meeting, the Rajasthan government also decided to amend the Rajasthan Ethanol Production Promotion Policy 2021 that will help the development of distilleries, breweries and bottling plants. They are located in 93 locations across 12 states. The company says that it has generated more than 5,700 million units of power until now. As far as solar power portfolio of Adani is concerned, 4,763 MW is operational and over 10,000 MW is under construction. Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) says that it is developing a renewable portfolio of 25 GW by 2025 which includes wind power, solar power, and hybrid power projects.
