The bid is regarding establishing fixed rates for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar power projects across various capacities for residential buildings. According to the tender notice, the due date for submission of the tender through online mode is February 19 till 11:00 AM while the technical and financial bids shall be opened on the next working day at 3.30 PM. The projects comprise categories based on their sizes including Part A which has a capacity of 1 KW, Part B of capacity 2 KW and Part C which has a capacity of 3 KW whereas Part D will range from above 3 KW to 10 KW, and Part E will be covering common facilities in Resident Welfare Associations/Group Housing Societies up to 500 KW. Moreover, the tender document also specified the financial incentives that are provided based on project scale including individual household projects from 1 to 3 kW receive Rs 18,000 per kW, while projects above 3 to 10 kW and RWA/GHS projects up to 500 kW receive Rs 9,000 per kW. In December 2023, the Puducherry government brought revised guidelines allowing property owners to install grid-connected ground-mounted and rooftop solar power projects of capacities ranging from 5 KWp to 500 KWp under net-metering regulations, in the Union Territory. The aforementioned tender is about the Puducherry government’s aims to implement rooftop solar modules on 50,000 households annually, reaching a total of 150,000 households by December 2026.
