The Punjab government recently announced that the cultural city of Amritsar will be now developed as a ‘Solar City’ of the north-western state as state’s Renewable Energy Minister Aman Arora launched the Punjab State Energy Action Plan. PSPCL has been a ‘distressed’ discom for the longest time, thanks to a combination of the state’s power policies and it’s own inefficiencies. That will indicate possibly higher than usual price bids for supply, besides a high probability that total bids received may not even equal the amount targeted for procurement. Utility scale solar projects have been few and far between in Punjab, owing to high cost of land besides PSPCL’s own approach to solar until recently, Tags: 1000 MW tender, e-reverse auction, financial bid, PSPCL, PSPCL tender, Solar City, technical bid
