The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) allotted Gujarat-based solar company Prozeal Green Energy a solar plus battery energy storage project at Leh. SECI, earlier had issued a tender for selection of project developers for a 25 MW (AC) Solar PV Power Plant (50 MWp) with a 20 MW/50 MWh battery energy storage system at Taru, Leh.

The solar EPC company Prozeal Green Energy won the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.’s (SECI) tender for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the 25 MW (AC) Solar PV Power Plant (50 MWp) with a 20 MW/50 MWh battery energy storage system at Taru, Leh.

Prozeal Green Energy secured a total bid amounting to INR 313.12 crore. This tender amount is divided into three schedules: Schedule No. 1 covers plant and mandatory spare parts, amounting to INR 226.75 crore; Schedule No. 2, for freight, design, civil, and installation services, secured INR 58.32 crore; and Schedule No. 3, covering operation and maintenance, secured INR 28.05 crore.

The tender for the project was issued in April this year and mandated the use of Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) listed modules by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for this project. The project in Leh is improve energy accessibility in the region security in the region. The attached battery storage system is also expected to help the region manage solar power fluctuations and overall ensure reliable and stable energy supply.
