Premier Energies Floats New Arm For Ingots, Wafers By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Apr 21st, 2025 Premier Energies Premier Energies has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, Premier Energies GWC Private Limited, to manufacture and process silicon ingots and wafers using advanced technologies for application in solar cells, the company said in a regulatory filing. “Premier Energies Limited is the promoter of Premier Energies GWC Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary and a related party. Upon allotment of shares by Premier Energies GWC Private Limited, the company will hold 100% of the share capital,” it said. The new subsidiary has been incorporated with an authorised share capital of ₹1 million, divided into 100,000 equity shares of ₹10 each. The company said the unit’s main objective is to manufacture and process high-quality silicon ingots and wafers using advanced technologies, supporting its solar cell production operations. Premier Energies Strengthens Backward Integration With New Arm As part of its broader backward integration strategy, Premier Energies earlier set up Premier-Green Aluminium Private Limited (PGAPL) as a subsidiary to manufacture, process and extrude aluminium and its alloys for captive consumption. PGAPL has also been incorporated with an authorised share capital of ₹1 million. The company said the move supports its plans to develop in-house aluminium frame manufacturing capabilities, reduce import dependence, and enhance self-reliance, strengthening its domestic supply chain for wafers and ingots. Premier Energies is making steady progress in expanding its technological capabilities. It recently entered into a technology partnership with Germany’s RENA Technologies GmbH for process innovation for N-Type solar cells and the development of wet chemistry for tandem solar cell technologies. The collaboration combines Premier Energies’ large-scale manufacturing capabilities with RENA’s expertise in wet chemistry and equipment solutions. Together, they aim to push the frontiers of high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing, targeting improvements in cell performance, production throughput and sustainable manufacturing processes.
