Powergrid Emerges Successful Bidder for ISTS Project in Rajasthan India’s largest electricity transmission company Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has successfully bagged a project under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process to set up an Inter-State Transmission System Project titled, “Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part C1” on a Build, Own Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis. Powergrid received the Letter of Intent (LoI), which paves the path for the establishment of a 765/400kV substation, complete with a STATCOM unit, at the strategic location of Ramgarh. In addition to this, the firm will also be responsible for the construction of a robust 765kV D/C transmission line along with the extension of associated bays at several current substations within Rajasthan. Located in Rajasthan, the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) will produce 20 GW of power. The set up of the new substation at Ramgarh and the upgradation of current infrastructure will augment transmission capacity while also contributing to stability and reliability of the grid. Recently, Powergrid recently announced its financial results for Financial Year 2023 and Q4. The Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise said that it reported a total of four percent growth of Profit After Tax (PAT) in Q4 (consolidated) on Year-on-year (YoY) basis.
