The Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has issued tender for the development of transmission line package or 765 kV class Reactor package for pooling station at Bidar under Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Bidar (2500 MW), Karnataka. The successful bidder in the PGCIL tender will be responsible for project’s designing, engineering, manufacture, testing at manufacturer’s works, supply, transportation, unloading and delivery at site including insurance & storage, erection, testing and commissioning at site. PGCIL wants all firms to participate in the bidding process. Private firms and government companies registered and incorporated in India can bid. With regards to the Technical Experience requirement of the tender document of PGCIL, in the last 7 years, a bidder must have completed the construction of projects involving transmission line of not less than 100 km. The capacity should have been 345 kV or of higher voltage class. PGCIL also said that a bidder must have designed, manufactured, tested & supplied 715 kV or higher voltage class one 1-phase Reactor of at least 110 MVAR capacity or at least three 1-phase Reactors each having a capacity of at least 36.7 MVAR and the same Reactor should have been in satisfactory operation# for at least two years on the date of bid opening. As far as Financial Position of a bidder is mentioned by PGCIL, a bidder’s Net Worth for last 3 financial years should be positive. Minimum Average Annual Turnover for best three years out of last five financial years of the bidder should be Rs. 634.29 million or equivalent for Reactor Package. In December, 2022, Power Grid also revealed its plans to invest Rs 330.61 crore to develop transmission system that will help in the evacuation of green power from renewable energy zones (REZ) in Rajasthan.
