Power & Energy Consultants Wins 800 MW Solar Power Project in Uttar Pradesh

Power & Energy Consultants India, which delves into energy consultancy services, has bagged a consultancy contract by TUSCO for an 800 MW ultra-mega solar power park in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. The consultancy will be responsible for coming up with a feasibility-cum-detailed project for the 800 MW project won through competitive bidding.

The firm bagged the project by quoting a sum of INR 4.99 million. Power and Energy Consultants will be required to submit the report in three months from the date of the project. The project will be established in an area of 4000 to 4,500 acres. The area of land spreads across the  nine villages, namely Kharagdah, Chhataini Mafi, Manka Chhataini, Gahur, Kotwa Mafi, Dondiya Mafi, Kataiya Dandi, Chharehara and Chachokhar. While over 2600 acres of private land has been identified for the project, over 1300 acres will be government land. The land for the solar project is being acquired on lease basis for 30 years. 

MNRE had given its approval to hand over the project to TUSCO for the 800 MW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Park (UMREPP). TUSCO is a joint venture between THDC India and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency.

The Chitrakoot Solar Park is expected to be commissioned by March 2025.

Back in May 2023, TUSCO Ltd and REC Ltd signed a loan agreement of INR 140.47 cr at TUSCO office, Lucknow. The loan agreement was signed in order to meet the capital requirement of under construction 600 MW Jhansi Solar Power Park.
