PM Surya Ghar: 6 Out Of 1736 Vendors In UP Rated A++

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) has released the draft list of empanelled rooftop solar vendors. The list also includes the ratings these vendors received on the National Rooftop Portal based on their installations. The final ratings for vendors will be published monthly, starting in January 2025.

UPNEDA reports that the state currently has a total of 1,737 solar vendors. However, only six of these vendors have received the highest rating of A++. Most of these companies have completed over 500 installations in the state. The state nodal agency has asked companies to submit any objections to the list before December 30, 2024.

The six vendors with the highest A++ ratings include Vortex Solar, NK Enterprises, Solar Square, Akupaad Marketing Pvt Ltd, Om Solar Solutions, and Smart Solartech and IT Solutions.

Among them, Vortex Solar Energy has reportedly completed the most rooftop solar installations, with a total of 905. These ratings are based on the number of redeemed subsidies under the scheme.

The list shows that six vendors are in the A++ category, having installed more than 500 systems. Four vendors fall under the A+ category with installations ranging from 400 to 499. Additionally, three vendors in the state are in the A category, having installed between 300 and 399 rooftop solar systems.

The largest number of vendors fall under the C and C- categories, with installations ranging from just one to 49. Interestingly, there are 470 companies listed as vendors but have yet to execute any projects where subsidies were redeemed.

Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has tasked Uttar Pradesh with solarizing 25 lakh households in the state. Prime Minister, earlier in 2024 launched PM Surya Ghar with a target to solarise 1 crore households in the state.This mission also increased the subsidies for residential rooftop solar projects, up to Rs 78,000. This was also followed by several steps, aimed at streamlining the whole process.
