Gujarat-based Sahaj Solar recently secured a Notice to Proceed (NTP) to build and commission off-grid standalone solar photovoltaic water pumping systems in Gujarat. This award is in continuation to the LoA offered under Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) which falls under Component B of PM- KUSUM Scheme.   

Sahaj Solar said in a regulatory filing, “The total amount of the contract value is Rs. 46.64 Crores (inclusive of GST). The project is expected to be completed within 120 days from the date of the issue of the NTP. The company secured an Rs. 46.64 Crores order to develop these projects.” 

Sahaj Solar Order Outside Home State

At the beginning of this year, 2025. Gujarat-based Sahaj Solar secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) to solarize its existing 2 HP grid-connected agricultural pumps (IPS).

The company stated in a regulatory filing, “These pumps include a 5-year guarantee/warranty and an annual maintenance contract, including insurance coverage, on a turnkey basis in Tripura under the PM-KUSUM Scheme (Component C) of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India. The total value of the contract is ₹36.42 crores (inclusive of GST).” The company plans to complete this project within 12 months from the date of issue of the LoA. TREDA issued the tender for this project in June 2024, and the project was awarded within six months.”

PM KUSUM: Takers Increase For Component C

Last year, government data shared by the Minister of State (MoS) for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik revealed massive growth under the PM Kusum Comp C. The data revealed Gujarat and Maharashtra topped the list under Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme. The scheme aimed at solarising existing agricultural pumps and feeders. Minister of State (MoS) for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik recently submitted data on the scheme’s implementation in a written reply to the parliament.

The data revealed that 80,845 tube wells were installed under Component-C across the country. Out of this, Gujarat and Maharashtra, recorded the highest installations, with 25,527 and 31,428 pumps, respectively.

Other states, like Madhya Pradesh (7,417), Kerala (7,293), Rajasthan (4,697), Uttar Pradesh (2,000), and Karnataka (1,713), also saw significant installations.
