Piaggio Vehicles, a pioneer of 3-wheeler goods transportation in India, has entered into a partnership with Bengaluru-based Sun Mobility on Tuesday to launch the commercial vehicle range with swappable battery technology.

According to the partnership, SUN Mobility will provide Piaggio with its smart batteries along with quick interchange stations, the company said in a statement.

The Pune-based company’s upcoming electric vehicles (EVs) will be powered with smart swappable batteries having advanced lithium-ion technology.

Further, the move will help in improving the overall efficiency of the electric vehicles along with better pickup and higher mileage.

Moreover, the network of quick interchange stations will facilitate electric 3-wheeler drivers to swap their batteries in under 2 minutes thereby. It will also address the concerns of range limitation and long re-fuelling time.
