Pench buffer zone gets a solar mini grid By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Sep 30th, 2016 A solar-mini grid has been inaugurated in the buffer zone of Pench by chief wildlife warden Shree Bhagwan at Ghatpendhri village. Also, known as Kiran Prabha Solar Mini Grid, the renewable energy project generates 2.4KV energy. It has been setup by Satpuda Foundation and Conservation Action Trust (CAT). After considering the difficulties and problems faced by villagers due to remoteness, Ghatpendhri was selected by Satpuda Foundation for implementing the project. Of 200 households, 76 residents have been connected to the solar-mini grid in the first phase. Bhagwan inspected houses and spoke to villagers about the solar home lightning system. Debi Goenka of CAT, Kishor Rithe of Satpuda Foundation and Sudeepto Ghosh of SELCO were present.
