Oriana Power Secures 52 MW Solar Projects From BPCL

Oriana Power Limited announced a new order for a 52 MW solar project worth Rs. 247.88 crore from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPSCL). As per the new order, Oriana Power will execute a ground-mounted solar power project with a total capacity of 52 MW. The project will be carried out under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) segment, including CTU (Central Transmission Utility) approval and the construction of transmission lines. The project also includes complete Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support for five years.

“Winning this prestigious order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited marks an important milestone for Oriana Power, demonstrating our ability to effectively operate large-scale solar projects,” said Anirudh Saraswat, Chief Business Officer of Oriana Power Limited. “While the renewable energy sector frequently encounters challenges such as short project timelines and complicated logistics, our proven expertise and streamlined processes ensure that we meet these demands effectively.”

As of August 6th, 2024, Oriana Power reported more than 390 MW of cumulative capacity under execution. The company has delivered over 240 MW of cumulative projects so far and has more than 900 MW of additional projects in the pipeline.

With a diverse portfolio of projects spread across 22 states in India, Oriana has secured approximately 920 acres of land bank across India for renewable energy projects. Moreover, it is also looking to expand into the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Oriana Power is also focusing on green hydrogen sector, The company recently announced a partnership with US-based green hydrogen electrolyser manufacturer, Splitwaters. The company plans to commission a gigafactory for producing electrolysers and Balance of Plant (BOP) modules—key components for green hydrogen and e-fuels production. Oriana Power claims that the facility will have an initial capacity of 500 MW operational by 2026, with an additional 500 MW to be added in 2027.
