Ola Announces ‘Mission Electric’, Plans to Put One Million EVs on Roads by 2021

During the upcoming year Ola’s mission is to start using 10,000 E-rickshaws and Electric auto-rickshaws in its service. Ola will use ‘Mission Electric’ as a platform to advance one million EVs on streets by 2021.

Ola announces its plans to put one million electronic vehicles (EV) on roads by 2021. Ola, one of the India’s leading cab companies called it ‘Mission Electric’

During the upcoming year Ola’s mission is to start using 10,000 E-rickshaws and Electric auto-rickshaws in its service. Ola will use ‘Mission Electric’ as a platform to advance one million EVs on streets by 2021.

To achieve their motive Ola will work with urban communities, driver-accomplices, vehicle makers, and battery organizations to achieve their motive. Ola has over the years earned its customers through its services and now it aims to bring cleaner and secure products to the market.

Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO of Ola said ‘three-wheelers are a vital means of transportation and a source of livelihood for millions of people every day. It also represents an immediate opportunity to improve outcomes for all stakeholders while reducing pollution across towns and cities.”

The first electric vehicle by Ola was brought on roads in partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra in Nagpur on May 26 2017. The inauguration of the product was done by CM Devender Fadnavis and Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road and transport, Highways and Shipping.
