The Odisha government has announced plans to develop a solar power project in the Kalahandi district, designating land in the region for this initiative. The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has issued a tender inviting partners to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR).

OREDA highlighted that the identified land is conveniently located near the grid substation. “OREDA has identified one no of land parcel in Mauja- Tentulipada, Tehsil- Junagarh, Kalahandi district with a total land area of 41.58 acres. OREDA is planning to develop a solar power plant with optimum capacity at the available land parcels. The evacuation facility in each location is within 10 km range from the grid sub-stations,” the tender stated.

Ground-mounted solar project

The proposed project involves the development of a ground-mounted solar power plant. According to the tender, the successful bidder must assess the land’s topography, determine the plant’s capacity, devise a project implementation method, formulate a power evacuation plan to the nearby grid substation, conduct resource assessments, and provide technical details.

Additionally, bidders are required to analyze costs, financial aspects, environmental considerations, legal frameworks, and other relevant factors. The completed report must be submitted within 21 days of receiving the work order.

“Consultant shall submit a draft Detailed Project Report (DPR) with brief details of solar power projects that can be installed in the proposed location, evacuation system requirement with their possible location & estimated cost, within 21 calendar days of issue of Work Order. OREDA shall try to give their inputs/observations if any on draft DPR within 07 working days & in next 07 working days consultant shall incorporate & submit the final DPR i.e. within 35th Calendar Day. Consultant shall also be required to give presentation to OREDA & any concerned authority as instructed by OREDA, on details of the DPR. Soft copies of the presentation shall be submitted to OREDA along with DPR,” the tender outlined.
