NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited has now issued a tender seeking developers to develop rooftop solar projects for Assam Rifles. As per the plan, the entity will develop rooftop solar in 26 locations spread in different states of the northeast.

The NVVN tender mandated the developers to solarise the buildings under Assam Rifles in states like Nagaland, Manipur and Assam. The company said that the developers need to ensure a minimum Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 15%.

The tender also said that the developer needs to ensure the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of these projects for 10 years after the installation of these projects.

“The Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) installation on various premises / buildings … on shadow free area. The final plant capacity shall be as per the detailed engineering and approved design for each of the building. Permanent MS Staircase/ladder of minimum width 1.0m & finished with primer & weather resistant enamel paint for roof top access shall be provided for each building where the Roof Top Solar PV panels are to be installed and roof access is not available,” the tender read.

It also said that the successful bidder will be responsible for preliminary visual assessment of roof, water & electricity arrangements, security and determining optimal capacity for setting up of Solar PV Plants and O&M activities.

“The project site shall be handed over to the bidder on as is where is basis. The bidder should inspect and examine the site and its surroundings and should satisfy himself as to the nature of the roof, the quantities and nature of work, materials necessary for completion of the work and their availability, means of access to site and in general shall himself obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect his offer,” the tender said. The company has planned to deploy grid-connected rooftop solar with a total capacity of 7.227 MWac with this tender.
