NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam LImited (NVVN) has now issued a tender with an aim to boost the growth of solar on the premises of NTPC Ramagundam and NTPC Simhdari. The subsidiary of the NTPC Group plans to boost the growth of rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar projects at these sites.

As per the NVVN plan, the tender seeks developers who can install solar on several buildings and land patches at various townships and premises of these NTPC stations and its subsidiaries. The company aims to add 6.32 MW of ac capacity through this initiative. NTPC-Ramagundam on the other hand is already know for commissioning India’s largest floating solar project.

“Bidders are advised to visit the site and collect all necessary information required for installation of solar PV plants, before submission of their bids. Bidder shall be responsible for assessing the site conditions before submission of bid and no additional claim shall be entertained in this regard,” the tender said.

The tender said that the bidders must have commissioned solar projects upto 400 Kwp or more, out of which one should be atleast 40Kwp project. : The bidder shall be exclusively responsible for preliminary visual assessment of roof, water & electricity arrangements, security and determining optimal capacity for setting up of Roof Top/Ground Mounted Solar PV Plants and O&M activities,” the tender said.

The tender also batted for the inclusion of remote monitoring system for the projects. “The bidder shall Provide a Remote Monitoring System (“RMS”). The system shall transmit various parameters of inverter, Solar energy meter and weather data to the solar energy data management system (SEDM) established by NVVN at a centralized location. The bidder shall arrange for Internet
connection including operational charges and all other necessary accessories for Operation of the RMS throughout the contract period,” the tender said. NVVN, meanwhile is also working towards boosting the growth of rooftop solar in India.
