NTPC-VVN Invites Bids For 250 MW/500MWh Standalone BESS Project

NTPC-VVN Invites Bids For 250 MW/500MWh Standalone BESS Project NVVNL

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NTPC-VVN), a Central Public Center Enterprise released a tender inviting bids for setting up 250 MW/500MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in India.

NTPC VVN invited bids for the selection of battery energy storage system (BESS) developers for setting up 500 MWh (250 MW x 2 hrs) standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems in India for “on-demand” usage under Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (ESS-I).

The document fee for the NTPC VVN tender is Rs. 22,500 which is the cost (Non-Refundable) and the document processing fee is Rs. 15 Lakh + 18% GST for the total project.  The earnest money deposit (EMD) payable is Rs. 7,30,000/MW. Whereas, the performance bank guarantee (PBG) to be paid by the bidders selected by NVVN is for a value of Rs. 18,25,000/MW

The opening date of the tender is 09th July 2024 and the bid submission end date is 8th July 2024. The project’s Scheduled Commissioning Date (SCOD) for the project’s full capacity is 18 months from the Effective Date of BESPA. Whereas, the maximum period allowed for commissioning the full Project Capacity with applicable penalty, shall be limited to the date as of 6 months from the SCOD or the extended SCOD.

Earlier this year, NTPC released a tender seeking parties for a 600Kw/3000Kwhr Vandium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) Storage System. The Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) issued the tender for its NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) center.

The tender mandates the bidders to supply, commission, and integrate the BESS for the NTPC’s NETRA power needs. The tender also asked the bidders to ensure the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the energy storage units.
