The total capacity of the solar power project is 20 MW and the second part will be 10MW. NTPC revealed in a regulatory filing that the company will add 10 MW of capacity to the project on June 7 at 12 hours. The solar power project is inside the existing NTPC Jhanor-Gandhar Gas based power station. The power company is on the forefront of making substantial strides in renewable energy in India which includes solar and wind power projects. The objective of the CPSU is to diversify its sources of energy and reduce carbon footprint. A week ago, NTPC Green Energy Limited signed a pact with the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) to develop renewable energy parks, floating solar, and other solar projects in Uttar Pradesh through a collaborative approach. The company is mulling to add 4 to 5 GW of renewable energy annually to achieve its ambitious clean energy target.
