NTPC 24 MW Solapur

NTPC Ltd. has invited bids from eligible bidders who are enlisted with the NTPC for the civil works package of 24 MW solar project at Solapur in Maharashtra.

The brief scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, insurance, storage, installation and construction of the grid-connected 24 MW (minimum) solar PV project at Solapur. The basic design drawings for Module Mounting Structure (MMS), Central Monitoring and Control Station (CMCS), Inverter Room, Roads and Drainage will be provided by NTPC.

The last date for bid submission is July 15, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on July 16, 2019. All bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 20 lakh along with their bids as a bid security amount.

The selected developers will have a period of 240 days from the date of issue of the letter of award to complete the work on the projects.

To be eligible, the average annual turnover of the bidder, should not be less than Rs 30 crore during the preceding three financial years as on the last date of submission of application for enlistment. And the net worth of the bidder as on the last day of the preceding financial year should not be less than 100% of bidder’s paid-up share capital.

Recently, NTPC released another tender for 1 GW of solar power under the CPSU program. A week after the RfS request for 1 GW. The program was designed specifically to encourage domestic manufacturing, hence, all the supplies will need to be sourced domestically by winning bidders in the tender, or the domestic content requirement (DCR) as it is called.

The CPSU program, by offering exposure to central public sector undertakings is considered a very high-quality opportunity, and consequently, bids have come in on the lower range of prices so far. The bid submission deadline is July 15, 2019. Thus, this follows the July 2 deadline for the earlier  2 GW tender from SECI.
