NTPC-REL Launches Tender For 1200 MW Hybrid Project Across India

National Thermal Power Corporation Renewable Energy (NTPC-REL), has released a tender, inviting bids for the selection of hybrid power generators on Build Own Operate basis. This project is undertaken to supply 1200 MW of power from ISTS-Connected wind-solar hybrid power projects anywhere in India. the last date for submitting bids is August 7, 2024.

The tender mentioned, “The downloading period of bidding documents is to be from 30th June 2024 to 23rd July 2024. Whereas, the pre-bid conference and last date for receipt of queries from prospective bidders is 24th July 2024. Whereas, the last date and time for the opening of technical bids is 7th August 2024 at 15:30:00 (IST).”

NTPC tender placed the cost of the RfS documents to be Rs. 22,500. Whereas, all bids must be accompanied by Earnest Money Deposit for an amount calculated at Rs. 11.60 Lakh per MW in the form as stipulated in the RfS Documents.

The tender follows a strong pipeline of Hybrid tenders this year, with an ever greater stress on Hybrid tenders over plain vanilla solar or wind tenders in particular.  SECI, as well as state undertakings like GUVNL have been at the forefront of the new push to seek renewable energy across peak hours as well. 

The next wave is likely to include more and more storage linked tenders as firms seek to start filling in RTC power requirements, besides FDRE(Fixed and dispatchable renewable energy)  which incorporates ESS as part of the project.
