NTPC REL Opens 550 MW Solar+BESS Tender Near NGEL Project By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Wed, Mar 19th, 2025 Highlights : It set April 25, 2025, as the last date for bid submission. BESS project NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender to build a 550 MW solar project with Battery Energy Storage near the 550 MW Shimboo ka Burj Solar Project. This project is part of the NGEL project in Rajasthan. The tender offers a Land and Power Evacuation Package. It set April 25, 2025, as the last date for bid submission. The tender requires the bidder to undertake land-related works. For instance, bidders are expected to arrange government/private land (5 acres/MW) on a freehold/leasehold basis near the 550 MW Shimbhoo Ka Burj Solar Project of NGEL, Rajasthan. Additionally, it mandates the development of an additional 550 MW solar project with BESS, with a lease period of at least 29 years and 11 months. The tender explained that the government land component is limited to a maximum of 10% of the total land. Scope Of Work NTPC REL in its scope of work includes constructing a necessary approach road to the pooling substation, including any required interconnections between plots if not readily available, either independently or through state agencies. It added, “A topography survey for land parcels is required, including any necessary cutting and filling with compaction to maintain an average slope of 10% for the solar project land, ensuring suitability for tracker-based MMS (though the tracker system itself is not within the bidder’s scope). The slope of the land should preferably be in one direction for at least 100m in the N-S direction. Additionally, a geo-technical investigation for the pooling substation and transmission system is required as needed.” The offered land must be fenced, including entry and exit gates (minimum of two per plot) and security cabins, as specified in the tender drawings, except for the land related to the transmission line. The tender said, “For private land leases, the bidder is responsible for lease management, including the payment of lease charges to bona fide landowners on behalf of NTPC REL, with reimbursement from NTPC REL after submitting payment proof. The lease management period covers from the date of signing the lease agreement until the completion of the O&M period of the contract. Any changes in the lease agreement due to land ownership or inheritance changes during this period will also be within the bidder’s scope.” NTPC Rel Seeks Bids For Land, Power Evacuation Of 300 MW Solar-BESS Project Also Read Tags: BESS, NGEL, NTPC REL, Rajasthan, tender
