The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited has issued a tender seeking prospective renewable energy developers. As per the mandate of the tender document, the Indian power behemoth has sought bids from players who could develop solar-wind hybrid projects anywhere in the country.

The document said that the renewable energy company needed to develop this project Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected networks. NTPC said that the bidding would take place in a single stage two envelope with reverse auction for the selection of the bidders.

In the first envelope, technical bids will be considered. On the other hand, the second envelope of financial bids will be submitted by the bidders. The Indian PSU has asked the bidders to submit their queries to the agency by August 10, whereas it has asked them to submit their bids by August 22. It said that these bids would be opened on August 22 at 14:30 pm.

The company said that Earnest Money Deposit should accompany all the bids from the bidders for an amount calculated at the rate of Rs 11.6 lakh per MW. The latest tender comes after the power generator issued several other renewable energy production tenders, including Green Hydrogen production.

This comes after the power behemoth has been given a target of issuing tenders for adding 15 GW of new renewable energy capacity in FY24 by the Union government in their central bidding trajectory. NTPC Limited said its total power capacity crossed 73 GW earlier this month. The Indian PSU aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by the end of 2032.
