NTPC today announced the commissioning of its 245 MW Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan. In its latest regulatory filing, the company said, “With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC, on a standalone and group basis, has now reached 59,413 MW and 77,806.50 MW, respectively.”

NTPC achieved this milestone after operationalizing the third and final 100 MW capacity of the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project, developed in collaboration with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The company explained that the first phase of the project, with a capacity of 160 MW, and the second phase, with a capacity of 60 MW, had already been declared commercially operational on August 28, 2024, and January 7, 2025, respectively.

NTPC’s Previous Projects in Rajasthan

Earlier this year, in 2025, NTPC stated in a regulatory filing that, based on the certificate issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on January 9, 2025, it had commissioned the second phase of 60 MW out of the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The company explained that the project, developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL)—a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited—was declared commercially operational as of January 7, 2025.

NTPC further stated that the first phase, with a capacity of 160 MW, had already been declared commercially operational as of August 28, 2024. Meanwhile, the second phase of 50 MW out of the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, developed by NTPC REL, was declared commercially operational on January 10, 2025. The first phase, with a capacity of 50 MW, had already been declared commercially operational as of September 30, 2024.
