On November 29, NTPC Green began commercial operations for Unit-I of the project, adding 55 MW of solar capacity out of the total 105 MW planned. With this addition, NTPC Limited’s total installed capacity across renewable and thermal power sources has reached an impressive 76,530.68 MW, solidifying its position as one of India’s largest power producers. NTPC Green’s Focus on Solar Energy Projects As a significant player in India’s renewable energy sector, NTPC Green recently made its stock market debut through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), targeting ₹75,000 million to fund its green initiatives. By September 2024, NTPC Green reported an operational capacity of 3,220 MW in solar projects and 100 MW in wind energy. Additionally, it has secured contracts and awards for 10.57 GW of solar projects and 3 GW of wind projects. In total, NTPC Green manages 16,896 MW of renewable energy projects, combining operational, contracted, and awarded capacities.
