NTPC Commissions 90 MW Wind Project in Gujarat By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Wed, Apr 9th, 2025 Maharashtra: NTPC REL Issues Tender For 672 MW Wind Projects NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), has commissioned the second phase of its Dayapar Wind Energy Project in Bhuj, Gujarat, the company said in a regulatory filing. The NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd and a step-down unit of NTPC Ltd, further added, “NTPC has completed 90 MW capacity wind project which is a part of the 150 MW Phase-I Dayapar project, and began commercial operations on April 9, 2025. The first 50 MW phase was declared commercially operational on November 4, 2023. Following the commissioning, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity stands at 80,020 MW.” NTPC Renewable Targets Over 3 GW Additions in FY25 NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC Ltd, added 550 MW of commercial capacity in the first nine months of FY25, bringing its total operational capacity to 3,475 MW as of December 31, 2024, up from 2,761 MW a year earlier, the company said in its Q3 FY25 analyst call. During the last quarter, NGEL commissioned an additional 135 MW so far in the fourth quarter, taking total renewable capacity additions in FY25 to 685 MW. NTPC said it expects to commission around 3,088 MW of renewable capacity during the full fiscal year. The target includes projects from NTPC REL, NGEL, and NTPC Ltd, as well as planned inorganic growth. So far, the company also won 2,200 MW in tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) till the last fiscal said the company. The company further added, “NGEL generated 4,742 million units of electricity during the first nine months of FY25, up 13% from 4,199 million units in the same period of FY24. The plant load factor (PLF) or capacity utilisation factor (CUF) stood at 22.99%, slightly lower than 23.37% in the previous year, mainly due to reduced global horizontal irradiance (GHI) and an extended monsoon season.” Whereas, “Total income for Q3 FY25 rose 25% year-on-year to ₹581 crore, compared to ₹463 crore in Q3 FY24.
