Greenstat will bring latest technology to India and also manufacture and assemble in India. Vegard Frihammer, founder and CEO of Greenstat Norway – a leading player in Renewable Energy – has held that Norway is searching for opportunities in the green hydrogen segment in India. The Greenstat CEO says that the company needs a market like India where collaboration in green hydrogen is possible. The Norwegian company has established its Indian arm – Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd. “We have established a network in India and are seeing a lot of positive attitudes towards co-operating with Norwegian entities. That’s why we’ve chosen to invest here when looking towards Asia,” states the CEO. Vegard Frihammer says that as far as Norway’s experience in the hydrogen economy is concerned, the key focus of the country has been the maritime sector and industry. The centre will feature CCUS and Fuel Cells. The company says that through the green hydrogen value chain, the centre will help the transfer and sharing of technology, know-how, and experience in India. India in Focus Greenstat states that India is already known as a large producer and consumer of energy, and is also known to have significant problems with air pollution and large emissions in its urban areas. It says that until now, India has not invested in hydrogen, unlike China and South Korea who are leading the development.
