The Nordex Group has received a further order for 38 turbines from the N149/4.0-4.5 Delta4000 series, which will be the second of its kind installed at a U.S. wind energy project, which will be developed in Texas.

The wind turbines, which will be installed at a Texas wind farm that has a proposed energy generating capacity of approximately 180-megawatts (MW) will be delivered in the summer of 2020.

The order includes supply and delivery of the wind turbines with an operation range of 4.8 MW. A Premium Service Agreement with a term of 5 years will also be included.

In May, we reported that the wind energy major had bagged an order for supplying 74 wind turbines for a proposed 350 MW wind energy project in the U.S. The developer and manufacturer has received an order for 74 turbines from the N149/4.0-4.5 Delta4000 series, which will be the first of its kind installed at a U.S. wind energy project. The wind turbines, which will be installed at an Oklahoma wind farm that has a proposed energy generating capacity of 350 megawatts will be delivered and installed in the spring of 2020.

“With the N149/4.0-4.5, our highly efficient turbine is now being deployed for the first time in the United States. It is specially designed for regions with moderate wind, which makes it the ideal choice for many potential project sites in the USA,” Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group, said at the time.

In April, the company bagged an order for supplying 38 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 166 MW in Argentina. Located in the southern Province of Chubut near Puerto Madryn, the new-ordered 166.4 MW wind farm will comprise 38 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines with an installed capacity of 4.380 MW each. Installation of the turbines is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.

The firm also got an order for wind farms from Greece from Terna Energy SA which has ordered a total of 36 machines of different models with a capacity of 108 MW and 23 MW in Luxembourg.
