German wind turbine maker and seller, Nordex Group has announced that it has signed a contract with renewable energy developer E energija group for the supply and installation of wind turbines for a 106 MW wind project in Lithuania.

Nordex Group said that the contract was signed March end. The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of 16 units of N163/6.X wind turbines. Nordex also signed a long-term service agreement for the maintenance of the wind turbines.

The official statement of Nordex maintains that the wind turbine delivery will commence in 2024. The turbines will be commissioned in the same year.

E energija group develops, builds and operates renewable energy projects in Lithuania and neighbouring countries. With 70 MW built last year and 300 MW under construction, E energija group plans to develop up to 2000 MW of renewable energy projects by 2030.

The Nordex Group has installed around 44 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets. In 2022, the company generated a revenue of EUR 5.7 billion. The wind turbine maker has joint manufacturing capacity that includes factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India and Mexico. The product portfolio is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 6.X MW class, which are tailor-made for the market requirements of countries with limited space and regions with limited grid capacity.

Last year, Helen Oy and Alandsbanken Wind Power Fund commissioned the Nordex Group for the supply and installation of 25 units of N163/5.X turbines for the 147.5 MW Karahka Wind Farm in Finland.

Similarly, UKA and Nordex Group have announced an extension of their collaboration for a further two years to continue their existing partnership. Together, the two firms encompass a total of 80 wind turbine generators that generate a capacity of close to 500 MW.
