Lignite mining firm NLC India (NLCIL) has solicited bids for the acquisition of 70.5 MW of solar modules for a project established on rehabilitated land within the Mine-II region in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.

The scope of work entails module production, delivery, packaging, forwarding, and transportation to the designated site.

The solar photovoltaic modules must meet the specifications required for a 1,500V system voltage and include transit insurance. The last date to submit bids is September 29, 2023. Bids will also open on September 29, 2023. Bidders must provide an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹1,06,00,000. The tender document fee is ₹20,000.

The successful bidder must offer a performance bank guarantee (PBG) equal to 10% of the value of the order. The modules supplied will be under warranty for one year from the receipt of the final supply. NLC will have the authority to request an additional 10% of solar photovoltaic modules for each secured project capacity, keeping with the terms of the main contract.

To be eligible, bidders must boast a track record of supplying solar photovoltaic modules or cells with a cumulative capacity of 10 MW or more. This must encompass minimum one order for 5 MW capacity or more. At the same time, bidders must boast a positive net worth in the most recent audited financial statements. The cumulative capacity should entail supply orders for at least 1 MW capacity or higher, applied separately to both modules and cells.

NLCIL recently joined hands with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam (RUVNL) to provide 300 MW of solar power under the CPSU Scheme at Rajasthan. The PPA has been signed for a period of 25 years.

NLCIL primarily has a presence in Tamil Nadu and is now expanding its penetration to other states also. Recently, it invited custom bid for services- engagement of Qualified Coordinating Agency (QCA) for solar capacity of 1349 MW, 51 MW of wind power plants at Tamil Nadu.
