NLCIL Set To Supply 200 MW Renewable Energy To Telangana NLC India Limited (NLCIL) a Navratna Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal has signed a Power Usage Agreement with Telangana state discoms for 200 MW solar power at a competitive and affordable price under CPSU scheme for 25 years.NLC India Lmitted’s solar project is set to generate around 1,300 crore units of green power and offset 90 Lakh Tons of Carbon emission in its lifetime. The project will be developed with equipment including single-axis trackers and domestic high-efficiency modules aimed at achieving higher generation under Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Make in India). The project is set to be commissioned by June 2025, the company said in a statement. This association comes with twin advantages of cheap green power and meeting the Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) of Telangana. NLCIL has already been supplying more than 234 MW of affordable thermal power to the State of Telangana for more than three decades and this association in renewables is the mark of the start of a long journey, for both the Telangana and NLCIL toward a Sustainable future. NLCIL is also the first Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) to reach 1 GW Solar Power generation in the country. In a bid to expand its renewable energy footprint, the company in a BSE filing in its financial results for the quarter that ended 30th June 2024, stated, “NLCIL’s gross power generation saw an increase to 6,133.67 MU which is 13.48% higher than Q1 of FY 2023-24 i.e. 5,405.17 MU. Within this, the company’s renewable power generation increased to 547.13 MU as against 539.59 MU in Q1 of FY 2023-24. Additionally, the group Gross Power Generation increased to 7,554.08 MU which is 10.38% more than Ql of FY 2023-24 i.e. 6,843.42 MU.
